KENNY IS NOW A THERAPY
GRADUATE!!
As of October 13th, this past Friday, Kenny completed his 6 week pulmonary rehabilitation course!!
It was challenging to him and I both...even Peter, actually.(His nap schedule was totally wacked out.)
However, Kenny has come away with a lot of HOPE and confidence in what he can and will be able to do.
  • He learned that he is capable of doing a greater degree of activitiy than he ever knew.
  • He was taught how to pace himself and when to stop the excercise before he goes too far into exertion.
  • He learned how to take his meds in a way that gives him the maximum benefit.
  • He was around 6 other men, all with varrying degrees of breathing challenges. He gained empathy for those whose lives have been radicaly effected by illness within a short period of time vs. living with the disease your whole life.
  • He gained a greater sense of how important it is for him to stay active in order to better oxygenate his body and increase the recovery process after his surgery.

So, all in all it was a great experience for the whole family. We got more accustomed to frequent appointments within a week and the pace required for all of us to maintain. Also, Kenny's scores on everything he tried had improved 100% or more when done again at the end of the course. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!! JOB WELL DONE KENNY!!
